Linux Basics: start here
Never opened a terminal? Perfect, that's exactly who this path is for. I built it for my own kids, starting from zero. By the end you'll be able to log in to a Linux server, find your way around, install software, look after users and run a website, on both big Linux families.
What you need
- A web browser. Every lesson has a practice terminal right in the page, so there's nothing to install.
- Curiosity, and permission to make mistakes. You can't break the practice servers, and the Reset button gives you a fresh one.
What's ahead

How the lessons work
- Rocky vs Ubuntu: use the Show switch at the top to see both families, or just the one you use.
- Missions: each lesson has a practice terminal with missions. Watch them tick off as you go.
- Quiz and progress: a short quiz checks you got the idea, and Mark lesson complete tracks your progress. Finish the path for a certificate.
When you're done, Linux Sysadmin is next, or detour into Git or AI Basics any time.
