Acceptable use policy
Last updated: September 30, 2026
Hacker rule #1: only hack machines you own or have permission to use. This page spells out what that means here. It's part of our terms of use.
You're welcome to
- learn from every lesson, as often as you like,
- practise in the practice terminal, which is a simulation and can't harm anything,
- practise for real on computers, virtual machines and cloud servers you own, or that you have written permission to test,
- teach with the site, and share links to it.
Not allowed
- Using what you learn against anyone else's systems. No scanning, logging in, password guessing, testing, changing or disrupting any computer, network, website or account without the owner's written permission. That includes school and work networks: ask the people in charge first, in writing.
- Attacking this site. No vulnerability scanning, load or stress testing, exploiting bugs, or trying to get into our server or its logs.
- Overloading the site. No automated tools that request pages much faster than a person reading would, and no copying the whole site with a scraper.
- Abusing the site's features. No sending fake error reports or search data, and no using the site to send spam or harmful files.
- Anything illegal, or anything that helps someone else break this policy.
Found a security problem on this site?
Thank you! Please email privacy@computerhackingtools.com with what you found and how to see it, and give us time to fix it before telling anyone else. Don't access other people's data, change anything, or keep testing beyond what shows the problem. We won't take action against anyone who reports a problem this way, in good faith.
If someone breaks these rules
We may block their access to the site. If the law has been broken, we may report it, and we'll help the authorities if they ask.
